In the previous swimming competitions, France did not perform as well as expected. Their last two days of competition include Women’s 400m freestyle and Men’s 4×100 medley relay on August 26th and Women’s Marathon 10km on August 27th.
Traveling from France to Taiwan, athletes not only need to get over jet lag, but also accommodate themselves to the hot and humid weather in Taiwan, which may affect their performances during the competition.
The average age of France’s swimmer is between 21-22, with Pauline Mahieu, who will participate in Women’s 4×100 medley relay, being the youngest at age 18. Marie-E Alizee Morel and Marion Abert are participating in Women’s 400m freestyle.
This time, we also had a chance to interview Team France’s coach Denis Lamur. When we asked him about whether he will take the athletes to have some fun, he said that there is no extra time to bring the whole team out due to intensive competitions and practices. At last, he wished that the swimmers can perform well in the last two days and will go partying if they win.
To express his gratitude towards the volunteers, Lamur used his native language, French, to share some words. We will also put this clip into the documentary and share it with everyone!
Please pay close attention to all swimming competitions during the weekend and also cheer for Team France!
